In addition to volume restoration of the face to soften lines and deep wrinkles, it is often necessary to enhance the skin’s appearance by improving fine texture and removing unwanted brown pigmentation. Lasers are extremely useful in this regard and are important tools to further enhance and rejuvenate the face.

How It Works

The unique ActiveFX CO2 laser creates a superficial laser peel that is confined to the epidermis with little to no thermal injury in the deeper layers of the skin, thereby minimizing the risk for scarring. The laser beam is applied in a fractional pattern, leaving small “bridges” of untouched skin. This technique makes the healing process much faster and enables you to get back to normal activities sooner. ActiveFX yields remarkable, long-lasting results with just one treatment and downtime is typically 4-7 days and offers impressive results.

What To Expect

Treatment begins with the application of a topical anesthetic cream. The lidocaine ointment is left on the skin for 30 minutes to ensure a comfortable experience. The laser pulses produce little to no pain and are described as feeling warm on the skin, like a sunburn. After the ActiveFX treatment, you can resume normal activities. However, you may experience a warm feeling (similar to a sunburn) on the treated skin and light swelling. An ice compress may be applied to help with any discomfort as well as to reduce swelling.
